Skógar - Fimmvörðuháls - Þorsmörk (Langidalur Campsite)

August 2010: A spectacular two days trek over the still warm eruption area of the Fimmvörðuháls fissure eruption that take place just a few months before.

The route is arduous due to the 1000m uphill but it's worth the effort. I highly recommend to spend a night up on the pass above 1000m where you can enjoy fantastic views of the volcanic landscape and the south coast. Provided that the weather is with you...
