Iceland, July 2014: Part 5 of 5

Tent trekking circumnavigating the spectacular mountain range Kerlingarfjöll along the inner circle route:

Ásgarður - Hveradalur - Hverabotn - Klakkur - Kisubotnar - Illahraun - Ásgarður

Soaked by the rain we arrived at the "dwarf" village of Ásgarður after crossing Suðurhraun and an endless walk along the dirt road with plenty cars passing by. Sometimes you feel like an alien when you walk along roads, everyone is staring at you from the air-conditioned 4x4...

Our plan was to explore the colourful high temperature areas of Kerlingarfjöll in the last five days of our tour that began more than two weeks earlier in Reykholt/Húsafell. A second time after Þórisdalur we had luck with good weather when we needed it...
