Great Blasket Island

We planned to stay a week on this abandoned island that lies adjacent to the most western part of the irish mainland, Dunmore Head. It's a special place with a rich cultural heritage and an awe inspiring natural scenerie. Alas, the weather was against us and we had to look to the islands just across the Blasket Sound. Still i want to show a few pictures of the Blaskets in hope that this page will be filled with fresh pictures directly from the island anytime in the future...
